Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define the product: Take ownership of and develop essential backend services and infrastructure that drive our observability platform, ensuring dependable, high-throughput data pipelines and APIs that developers rely on every day.

• Connect with the community: Work alongside open-source contributors and customers, address their challenges, and integrate their feedback into our backend architecture and API design.

• Address technical challenges: Create and implement scalable backend systems capable of ingesting, processing, and querying petabytes of observability data. You'll establish the foundational services that enable engineers to resolve production issues like never before.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on backend development, particularly in creating developer tools or infrastructure.

• Proficient in TypeScript and Node.js (experience with frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or similar is preferred).

• Strong grasp of API design, distributed systems, and data modeling.

• Familiarity with Go is an advantage — you'll occasionally contribute to services built in Go.

• Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

• A strong enthusiasm for open source and the developer community.

• Experience in creating developer tooling and a keen understanding of how to design for developers.
