Posted Jul 2
This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay.
• We develop and manage cloud platforms tailored for our clients.
• Often, this involves establishing a reusable Terraform framework and customizing it for each client and environment.
• You will take full ownership of these platforms: designing them, constructing them from scratch, ensuring their ongoing operation, and being the go-to person for understanding how everything integrates.
• This position is senior-level with significant responsibility.
• Our clients vary, as do the architectures and pipelines.
• What remains consistent is Azure and the expectation that you can assess an unfamiliar configuration, make informed decisions, and take responsibility for the outcomes.
• You will make architectural decisions and be accountable for them.
• Execute migrations that involve substantial risk.
• Transition a live platform to a new foundation, interpret the plan accurately, document the runbook, and ensure a rollback plan is prepared before commencing.
• Maintain platform health over time: manage provider upgrades, address drift, ensure security, and prevent a shared foundation from deteriorating as more clients are onboarded.
• Collaborate directly with the client's DevOps engineers.
• Azure expertise is a critical requirement.
• You have experience building and managing production Azure environments yourself, rather than merely using pre-existing modules.
• Most of the work focuses on Azure networking: VNets and subnets, private endpoints and private DNS zones, NSGs and UDRs, NAT, Application Gateway and WAF, load balancers, and hub-and-spoke / Virtual WAN configurations.
• Proficiency in Terraform on Azure, with a respectful approach to state management: workspaces, migrations, imports, remote backends, and the discipline to avoid forcing an apply through a lifecycle guard.
• Familiarity with the delivery pipeline: Azure Container Registry, VM Scale Sets with cloud-init, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub.
• Experience with Azure data services: Postgres Flexible Server, managed Redis, Blob storage, and a solid understanding of their sizing, failover, and cutover risks.
• Knowledge of Entra ID and RBAC: app registrations, service principals, and properly scoped role assignments across subscriptions.
• Ability to write clearly and maintain composure during live calls. You can provide a runbook that others can follow independently.
• Preferred qualifications: Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305).
• Familiarity with Temporal or similar workflow runtimes, as well as scripting (Bash, Python) for integration tasks.
• Previous experience in consulting or embedded client roles. You have acted as an external expert in the past.
• Small, senior teams that foster genuine ownership.
• Opportunity to be a flexible, innovative, and creative thinker.
• Work in a congenial environment as a team player.
• Enjoy the autonomy of being self-sufficient.
• Demonstrate self-motivation and an ownership mindset.
• Maintain a strong work ethic.
