
Senior Associate, Tax Controversy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review and assess tax notices received from clients.
• Coordinate with clients to obtain essential information and documentation.
• Prepare and submit timely responses to tax authorities.
• Monitor and follow up on the status of tax notice resolutions.
• Assist clients in preparing for tax audits by organizing relevant financial records and documents.
• Collaborate with the Tax Controversy team to formulate audit defense strategies.
• Work together with clients and tax authorities throughout the audit process.
• Evaluate audit findings and recommend suitable resolutions.
• Help clients tackle tax debt issues and create repayment plans.
• Engage in communication and negotiations with tax authorities to resolve outstanding tax debts.
• Perform legal research to support tax controversy cases.
• Draft legal documents such as appeals, petitions, and settlement agreements.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with clients regarding their tax controversy case statuses.
• Provide expert guidance and advice to clients concerning tax-related issues.
• Stay informed on changes in tax laws, regulations, and policies.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• Must be in the process of obtaining certification as a current CPA, Enrolled Agent, or licensed attorney.
• Previous experience in tax controversy, tax compliance, or a similar role is preferred.
• Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Proficient in legal research and documentation.
• Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
