Senior Associate, Site Reliability Engineer

📋 Description

• Provide support for products that have been recently migrated from on-premise data centers to AWS Cloud.

• Participate in the planning and execution of cloud best practices for newly migrated products.

• Ensure operational coverage of environments while consistently seeking optimization, reengineering, and increased efficiency.

• Improve automation capabilities, scalability, process enhancement, metric collection, security, and visibility into product environments.

• Utilize various DevOps methodologies, including but not limited to CI/CD processes.

• Collaborate closely with development teams to facilitate a manageable and secure transition of changes into the production environment.

• Integrate with product teams to support the enterprise PaaS & SaaS offerings developed by the Platform teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience equivalent to it.

• A seasoned professional with over 5 years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically including 1+ years in an Associate-level position or an external equivalent.

• Extensive experience in DevOps, with a preference for a mix of 70% Operations and 30% Development efforts.

• Strong expertise in Containerization, Kubernetes, EKS, and CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitOps methodologies such as ArgoCD and FluxCD.

• Proficient in using Git for version control, preferably with Azure DevOps.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools (especially CloudWatch alerts), troubleshooting issues, and serving as the escalation point.

• Implement best practices for configuring, tuning, and securing APIs/Microservices to ensure optimal performance and uptime.

• Use tools like curl and wget for diagnostics, analyzing network performance, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.

• Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of HTTP concepts and protocols to enhance web application performance.

• Strong experience with Terraform and adherence to best practices in Infrastructure as Code (IAC).

• Proficient in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.

• Expertise in transferring large files, managing EC2 instances and AMIs, deploying applications with AWS Elastic Beanstalk, and configuring and optimizing Load Balancers.

• Demonstrate proficiency in SQL and SQL administration, including managing database/schema/catalog configurations, users/logins, synonyms, and performance troubleshooting in RDS.

• Implement and sustain fundamental database hygiene practices to ensure data integrity and efficient storage.

• Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Linkerd, Istio) is advantageous.

• Manage and optimize AWS-based cloud infrastructure to guarantee high availability and performance.

• Familiarity with container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker) is essential.

• Strong skills in Network Management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Experience with Azure DevOps, including ticket management, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and infrastructure as code.
