Senior Associate – External Audit

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Jordan.

📋 Description

• Offer virtual client engagement support for key clients throughout the region.

• Utilize your analytical abilities to assess clients' financial statements and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

• Review financial and accounting documents, as well as physical items like inventory and equipment.

• Pose a variety of questions—from formal written inquiries to informal oral discussions—to different individuals within client organizations.

• Evaluate the internal controls and processes of the client organization.

• Establish trust and credibility with clients by understanding their expectations and delivering high-quality services.

• Take responsibility for researching and comprehending essential facts about the client's industry prior to engagement.

• Communicate promptly with the Manager and/or Partner regarding engagement status, including risks, issues, and deviations from the plan.

• Assume full responsibility for the completion of external files.

• Analyze the engagement economics for yourself and the field staff, explaining any budget variances.

• Review the work of associates and provide on-the-job training, coaching, and timely constructive feedback.

• Ensure compliance with risk, quality, and independence standards.

• Effectively engage and collaborate with diverse teams from the planning phase through to the completion of audits.

• Participate in digital initiatives and upskilling efforts that align with the team’s business needs.

• Carry out additional procedures as necessary to support the issuance of assurance deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Completion or pursuit of a professional qualification, such as ACCA, CA, ACA, or CPA (preferred).

• Progressive experience at the Senior Associate level with a variety of external audit clients in a Big 4 professional services firm.

• Experience in auditing across a diverse range of industries.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills that enable you to succeed in a team environment.

• Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English (both oral and written) is advantageous.

• Skills in business development and building client relationships.

• Openness to challenge conventional practices and foster a cohesive and effective working team.

• Strong project management capabilities.

• Familiarity with international auditing standards (ISAs) for external audits in financial services, along with excellent knowledge of IFRS relevant to the FS practice (such as IFRS 9, 17) and financial services regulations.

• Knowledge of audit technologies, along with experience using Data Analytics tools, is a plus.

• Commitment to valuing differences and collaborating with diverse individuals and perspectives.

• Thorough technical expertise and experience regarding applicable accounting, reporting, and auditing standards, demonstrated by exceptional performance.

• Experience in designing engagement procedures based on risk and materiality.

• Previous experience in coaching and leading engagement teams.

• Strong technical acumen with the ability to research issues, present alternatives, and draw conclusions for clients and managers.
