This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Direct the technical strategy for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and LLM-enhanced intelligence across MaintainX offerings.
• Design and implement comprehensive ML systems—from data ingestion and feature engineering to model training, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
• Guide a growing group of ML and data engineers, promoting best practices in experimentation, evaluation, and model lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to synchronize the AI roadmap with customer requirements and business objectives.
• Create dependable data and feedback loops that integrate customer telemetry and operator insights for model retraining.
• Enhance performance through strategies such as quantization, distillation, and scalable inference serving.
• Utilize LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face) to develop reasoning systems and agentic workflows for asset and work intelligence.
• Ensure that the ML infrastructure adheres to production standards for latency, reliability, explainability, and security.
• Over 7 years of experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, or Applied AI.
• Proficiency in Python, with a strong understanding of PyTorch, TensorFlow, and cloud ML platforms (AWS, Databricks, or similar).
• Proven track record in deploying production ML systems—not merely prototypes—at scale.
• Solid foundation in LLMs, time-series modeling, and anomaly detection for real-world datasets.
• Established capability to lead architectural choices, mentor engineers, and cooperate across product, data, and platform teams.
• Familiarity with MLOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Weights & Biases, MLflow, SageMaker).
• Preferred advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.
