Senior Application Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams (mobile, frontend, backend) to execute threat modeling, carry out security reviews, and design secure libraries that bolster the security of Yelp’s applications and services.

• Create and implement services for login and account security tailored to Yelp’s website and mobile applications.

• Assist in security incident response and take part in the team’s operational activities, including assessing bug bounty submissions and vulnerability reports from internal security tools.

• Develop automated solutions to identify and thwart potential security threats within Yelp’s applications and services.

• Advocate for security best practices and policies to be integrated into the software development life cycle.

• Be a collaborative team member who embodies the Yelp Values and flourishes in a diverse and inclusive work environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in software engineering with a focus on application security.

• In-depth knowledge of web application security, mobile security, APIs, and cloud security.

• Familiarity with common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).

• Proficiency in your preferred modern programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript - React, Swift, and/or Objective-C).

• Experience in security research and penetration testing is a plus.

• Ability to read and navigate through unfamiliar codebases with ease.
