Application Support Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the stability and performance of critical systems that support business users.

• Analyze system anomalies by correlating logs, metrics, and traces to pinpoint root causes and devise remediation strategies.

• Spearhead quick incident response efforts and drive resolutions for root causes.

• Engage in an on-call rotation to assist with scheduled deployments and address production issues outside of regular business hours.

• Address and resolve customer-reported issues within SLA, ensuring timely communication of status and resolutions to business stakeholders.

• Proactively identify potential problems, performance bottlenecks, and improvement areas before they affect customers.

• Enhance observability across monitoring, metrics, logging, and alerting systems.

• Diagnose and resolve software integration issues, data integrity challenges, and application errors.

• Discover opportunities to enhance system scalability, fault tolerance, and overall performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Excellent English communication skills.

• Proficient in .NET, with the ability to read and debug code to trace issues through application flow.

• Skilled in Python and/or PowerShell, capable of understanding, modifying, and creating scripts for troubleshooting and automation.

• Strong SQL Server expertise, including the ability to write DML and DDL for investigating and resolving data issues in production.

• Knowledgeable in Cloud infrastructure (e.g., EC2, CloudWatch) and comfortable monitoring server/application health and resource usage.

• Experienced in log analysis and observability tools for incident diagnosis.

• Familiar with alerting and incident management tools (e.g., PagerDuty, Opsgenie).

• Familiarity with ticketing systems and SLA-driven workflows (e.g., Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, or similar).
