Senior Application Security Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement secure design patterns, reference architectures, and integration standards.

• Assess product architectures for security vulnerabilities during the design phase (threat modeling) and facilitate the resolution of identified concerns.

• Act as the security representative for platform-level integration projects.

• Oversee security testing for platform components and interactions across products.

• Contribute to the development of application security standards and guidelines.

• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

• Highlight critical security risks with clear business context and suggest remediation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in application security, software engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years in an architectural role or as a senior individual contributor.

• Profound knowledge of application security principles: authentication and authorization, cryptography, input validation, API security, secrets management, and secure design methodologies.

• Proven experience in designing secure integration and interoperability frameworks across distributed systems (microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, event-driven architectures).

• Strong expertise in threat modeling techniques (STRIDE, PASTA, or equivalent) and security architecture evaluation processes.

• Practical experience with application security tools: SAST, DAST, SCA, container scanning, and secrets detection.

• Proficient in at least one of the following technologies: .NET, Java, or JavaScript.

• Familiar with cloud infrastructure security (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
