Senior Android Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Customize client solutions: Conduct research, assessments, and suggest effective and reliable software solutions tailored to the specific needs of clients.

• Produce high-quality code: Develop and maintain applications using Kotlin for a specialized embedded/mobile operating system.

• Promote Continuous Improvement: Actively identify opportunities for enhancement in existing programs and spearhead refactoring initiatives.

• Foster team collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, product owners, team managers, and clients.

• Offer client consultancy: Provide technical consulting services to clients to ensure that solutions align with their requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Android development within a professional software engineering setting.

• Strong practical experience with Kotlin; knowledge of Java is advantageous.

• Experience in developing Android applications utilizing Kotlin and Java, along with modern Android development practices and Android Jetpack libraries (ViewModel, DataStore, Navigation), Jetpack Compose for UI, and traditional Views with Fragments.

• Comprehensive understanding of clean architecture and prevalent Android architectural patterns (MVP, MVVM, MVI).

• Experience with Kotlin Coroutines, reactive programming using RxJava, and task scheduling with WorkManager.

• Familiarity with local data persistence solutions such as Room and Realm.

• Proficient with version control systems and collaborative tools (Git, Atlassian, or similar).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Nice to have: Experience with multi-module Android projects, CI/CD pipelines, and contemporary deployment practices.

• Knowledge of frontend technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular) and a deep understanding of the Android SDK.

• Exposure to accessibility standards, localization, analytics, and UI enhancements (WorkManager, Paging, Lottie).

• Proficiency in the German language.
