Senior Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Core Application Engineering: Design, develop, test, and securely deploy the client’s core native Android application utilizing Kotlin and advanced continuous delivery pipelines.

• UI/UX Implementation: Convert pixel-perfect, responsive design mockups from Figma into smooth, highly responsive user interfaces using Jetpack Compose and contemporary Android layout principles.

• Web3 Integration: Engage in technical exploration, prototyping, and production deployment of Web3 systems, providing secure and user-friendly crypto wallet experiences natively on the Android platform.

• Code Craftsmanship: Sustain, advocate for, and enhance a clean, highly testable, and robust codebase, employing automated unit and UI testing frameworks to reduce regression and improve stability.

• System Optimization: Promote technical excellence across essential operational requirements, including telemetry/analytics collection, localized translations, and advanced memory optimization.

• Agile Collaboration: Actively participate within a high-performing, iterative agile lifecycle, fostering a culture of shared ownership where the team emphasizes collaborative problem-solving over individual blame.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven Track Record: Extensive experience in delivering commercial-grade native Android applications to production. While all exceptional technical backgrounds will be considered, having five or more years of experience in creating beautiful, high-performance Android applications is particularly beneficial.

• Language & Toolkit Mastery: High-level engineering expertise in Kotlin, along with significant hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI design libraries.

• Architectural Sophistication: Profound understanding of cutting-edge Android software architectures (e.g., MVVM, MVI) and a passion for developing clean, scalable, and modular software components.

• Rigorous Testing Practices: Strong familiarity with contemporary testing methodologies, specifically including unit testing and automated UI testing frameworks.

• Design Literacy: Excellent capability in utilizing Figma tools to assess assets, showcasing keen attention to micro-interactions, animations, spacing, typography, and visual uniformity.

• Core Optimization Focus: Keen attention to low-level engineering specifics, including payload optimization, memory usage reduction, lifecycle management, and application performance monitoring.
