Senior AI Researcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform original research in embodied AI, focusing on learning from warfighter demonstrations, reinforcement learning, memory, reward systems, vision-language modeling, and world modeling.

• Develop, test, and evaluate large-scale models for perception, decision-making, and control within both simulated and physical environments.

• Explore transfer learning and continual learning approaches across various robotic sectors.

• Collaborate with engineering, robotics, and field teams to incorporate research findings into operational systems.

• Spearhead research strategy and roadmap across critical areas of autonomy and machine learning.

• Assist in field tests and data collection efforts to assess system performance in realistic settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, or a related discipline with 4+ years of applied research experience (industry, postdoc, or lab), or 8+ years of equivalent industry research experience without a PhD.

• Strong publication history in leading venues.

• In-depth expertise in one or more of the following areas: reinforcement learning, imitation learning, vision-language models, sim-to-real, world modeling, or agentic AI.

• Practical experience in building and assessing models for embodied agents or autonomous systems.

• Proficiency in Python and frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.

• Experience handling large-scale datasets and high-dimensional sensor data.

• Proven ability to transition ideas from research concepts to deployed prototypes.

• Must be a U.S. Person due to necessary access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
