This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Develop robust and scalable machine learning solutions for artificial intelligence functionalities within educational products, making significant implementation choices independently.
• Collaborate closely with Business Unit partners to grasp their AI-related challenges, assist in articulating these issues clearly, and create solutions that align with their actual requirements.
• Discover opportunities to leverage existing AI components and capabilities across various teams. This encompasses use case identification, technical solution development, and effectively advocating for component reuse rather than building new solutions from scratch.
• Review and validate the work of junior scientists, offering expert-level technical insights and identifying potential issues before they progress to production.
• Influence the direction of team projects by contributing experience and viewpoints to decisions regarding methodologies, tools, and project scope.
• Suggest innovative techniques and methodologies when current approaches demonstrate clear limitations, taking charge of their evaluation and introduction.
• Mentor colleagues and facilitate the professional development of junior team members through code reviews, collaboration, and direct feedback.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation and maintain the technical integrity of deliverables over time, beyond just the initial delivery phase.
• Extensive applied experience in machine learning and deep learning, with a proven record of delivering solutions that have been implemented in production and resulted in tangible outcomes.
• Proficient in Python and essential machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, scikit-learn), including model assessment, experimentation, and scaling iterations.
• Experience engaging directly with non-technical or semi-technical stakeholders to comprehend issues, define requirements, and align on suitable technical strategies.
• Ability to critically evaluate an existing capability or component and make a well-reasoned argument for its suitability in a new context.
• Confident in steering project direction and making substantial technical decisions with appropriate independence.
• Experience in reviewing the work of others with a high level of rigor and providing feedback that enhances both the output and the individual responsible for it.
