Senior AI Engineer, Conversational AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain production-level conversational AI systems.

• Take ownership of AI features, overseeing the entire process from technical design to deployment and ongoing production support.

• Create scalable AI architectures and agent workflows.

• Construct and maintain AI evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, and automated testing pipelines.

• Enhance AI quality through experimentation, evaluation, and data-driven optimization.

• Integrate various AI providers and select the most suitable models for distinct use cases.

• Monitor production AI systems to boost reliability, quality, and performance.

• Collaborate with product, frontend, and backend teams to deliver comprehensive AI features.

• Review technical designs and contribute to best engineering practices.

• Diagnose complex AI and production issues.

• Stay updated on advancements in Generative AI and apply them where they can add business value.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in building AI-powered applications in a production environment.

• In-depth knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, AI agents, RAG, tool calling, structured outputs, and orchestration frameworks.

• Proven track record in designing and developing conversational AI systems, including voice and/or chat applications.

• Strong comprehension of AI system design, encompassing context management, memory, retrieval, multi-agent workflows, and reasoning pipelines.

• Experience in building AI evaluation frameworks, automated testing pipelines, benchmarking, and regression testing.

• Demonstrable experience in enhancing AI quality through iterative evaluation and experimentation.

• Solid software engineering fundamentals, including clean architecture, design patterns, testing, and maintainable code.

• Experience with integrating multiple AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar.

• Experience in deploying, monitoring, and maintaining AI applications in production settings.

• Full-stack development experience with contemporary backend and frontend technologies.

• Proficiency with cloud platforms, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and production deployments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to assess AI approaches based on quality, reliability, latency, and cost.

• Capable of independently managing complex AI projects from design to production with minimal oversight.
