Senior Agentic AI Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Exhibit complete proficiency in Ruby on Rails along with at least one contemporary front-end framework, demonstrating the confidence and flexibility to navigate any codebase or platform by effectively utilizing AI coding agents.

• Engage daily with Claude Code through structured, repeatable workflows: planning, decomposition, implementation, testing, and deployment.

• Understand when to trust AI outputs and when to conduct verification. You serve as the quality checkpoint, rather than a mere formality.

• Review AI-generated code meticulously: recognize reliable patterns, identify key areas of focus, and determine when to regenerate versus manually correct.

• Leverage AI for planning prior to code development: encompassing technical design, task breakdown, risk assessment, and effort estimation.

• Act as a technical resource for AI-enhanced workflows within the engineering team, disseminating playbooks, patterns, and tools that facilitate the development of other engineers.

• Create reusable agent skills, hooks, and guardrails that elevate the overall baseline of the team.

• Collaborate with product managers, front-end developers, and linguists within cross-functional teams.

• Take part in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile methodologies.

• Continuously investigate and assess emerging AI tools, models, and techniques, employing a systematic approach for adoption decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in Ruby, with a working understanding of Python for machine learning and statistical analysis, as well as familiarity with Go for high-performance requirements.

• Proven daily utilization of Claude Code as a primary coding tool, evidenced by production pull requests rather than mere experimentation.

• Experience in constructing and coordinating multi-agent workflows that include proper checkpointing, reproducibility, and cost management.

• Capability to author and maintain context documents (CLAUDE.md, architecture maps, runbooks) that make a codebase navigable for AI.

• Experience in designing evaluation frameworks to detect regressions and assess AI-assisted productivity.

• Rigorous prompt engineering skills: you create prompts with purpose, iterate in a systematic way, and document effective strategies.

• Experience with RAG systems, MCP servers, or multi-agent orchestration.

• A security-first approach regarding AI workflows: data classification, secrets management, and awareness of prompt injection risks.

• Strong foundational knowledge in system design, debugging, and architectural reasoning.

• Ability to teach and impart knowledge in ways that genuinely advance team capabilities.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
