This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Manage field property claims independently, including those that necessitate external field investigations and catastrophe (CAT) responses.
• Conduct comprehensive investigations, evaluate coverage, and generate necessary documentation such as reservation of rights and coverage letters.
• Recognize and actively seek opportunities to transfer risk to the relevant entities for the advantage of insured clients and business partners.
• Maintain thorough and detailed records of claims, ensuring adequate documentation and adherence to jurisdictional regulations.
• Appropriately identify and assign subrogation potential; establish files to support effective recovery efforts.
• Ensure all claims activities meet regulatory and company standards.
• Investigate and handle suspicious claims utilizing advanced techniques and tools; refer to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) when necessary.
• Set reserves, authorize payments, and make financial decisions within authorized limits while contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of reserving.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents.
• Leverage advanced tools and analytics to identify trends, rectify inconsistencies, and enhance claims handling efficiency.
• Act as a mentor to junior adjusters, offering guidance on complex claims, compliance, and litigation processes.
• Provide empathetic and clear communication throughout the claims process.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in claims handling.
• Typically requires 5 to 10 years of experience in adjusting.
• Strong understanding of local geography, regulations, and public safety agencies.
• Solid working knowledge of applicable statutes, regulations, case law, and third-party legal liability concepts.
• Proficient in negotiation and formulating strategies to influence outcomes.
• Communicates effectively and clearly in both verbal and written forms across various situations.
• Highly organized with the capacity to manage complex workflows and project tasks.
• Makes informed decisions based on a thorough analysis of complex issues.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external experts, including legal, underwriting, and other stakeholders.
• Must possess and maintain the appropriate state adjuster licenses, continuing education credits, and a valid driver's license.
• Work in a fast-paced, dynamic, or high-pressure environment.
• Perform duties in a noisy or loud work setting.
