This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Responsible for the development and enhancement of AXIS models and processes that support VM-22 valuation, while effectively communicating results to senior management.
• Design and implement improvements to models, including refining structure, assumptions, and optimizing runtime.
• Lead decisions on methodology related to the interpretation and implementation of VM-22, while driving model governance including change management, controls, and validation readiness.
• Collaborate with valuation, pricing, FP&A, and investment management teams to ensure results are consistent and user-friendly.
• Analyze model outputs to identify key drivers, limitations, and opportunities for enhancing model performance and scalability, including automation, workflow, and cloud integration where applicable.
• Stay updated on regulatory developments related to VM-22 and translate these into necessary model adjustments.
• Provide mentorship and project leadership to the core VM-22 team as well as to partner organizations.
• A bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related field is preferred.
• ASA or FSA designation is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience to have acquired a seasoned actuarial business perspective is required.
• Prior experience in modeling with GGY AXIS is essential.
• Hands-on experience with individual annuities is mandatory.
• Experience in asset modeling and Asset Liability Management (ALM) is strongly preferred.
• Experience in projection and valuation modeling (such as CFT, LDTI MRB, VM-20, or VM-21) is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the capability to manage and explain reserve movements are essential.
