Lead Actuarial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Spearhead essential pricing and analytics initiatives within a collaborative cross-functional team.

• Create and oversee predictive models.

• Assess rate adequacy across various states and segments.

• Direct rate indications and pricing studies to guide renewal strategies and updates for multi-state pricing.

• Analyze retention, conversion, and price elasticity metrics.

• Execute pre- and post-implementation impact evaluations.

• Suggest adjustments as necessary.

• Assist with data mapping, exploration, and modeling projects.

• Propel process enhancements through data utilization and automation.

• Offer technical guidance through mentoring, governance, and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Deliver findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of property and casualty pricing experience, showcasing expertise in ratemaking and rate adequacy methodologies (including indications, trend analysis, on-leveling, and monitoring); experience in personal lines is preferred.

• Excellent communication abilities with both technical and non-technical personnel.

• Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with business intelligence/visualization tools (such as Power BI/Tableau) is preferred.

• Strong programming and data analysis capabilities; SQL proficiency is required, with SAS, Python, or R being advantageous.

• Experience with version control and reproducible workflows is preferred.

• Proven capability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.

• Eagerness to learn and grow.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Established organizational and time management skills; a keen focus on detail.

• Intermediate skills in problem-solving and decision-making; capacity for critical and strategic thinking.
