Senior Accountant – Certified Financial Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Comprehensive Accounting: You will take charge of our ongoing bookkeeping and engage in all aspects — from bank transactions to provisions and accruals, as well as managing accounts receivable and accounts payable.

• General Ledger & Financial Close: You will oversee the general ledger, organize our monthly and annual financial closings systematically, and guarantee the integrity and accuracy of our financial reports.

• Compliance & Documentation: You will prepare tax and regulatory submissions (e.g., VAT returns, statistical reports) while ensuring adherence to all pertinent regulations.

• Collaborative Engagement: As a vital member of the Finance team, you will serve as the main point of contact for accounting inquiries and facilitate communication with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.

• Process Improvement & Automation: Aiming to enhance the efficiency and scalability of Finance, you will evaluate current processes with the team, pinpoint manual workflows, and actively promote automation and the use of modern tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Successfully completed commercial training (e.g., tax clerk), a degree in a finance-related discipline, or further qualifications/certifications as a Bilanzbuchhalter (certified balance-sheet accountant).

• Multiple years of solid experience in accounting, preferably within a dynamic setting, scale-up, or the technology sector.

• Proficient user of DATEV (accounting) or a similar complex ERP/financial system, alongside familiarity with digital, system-supported financial processes and regular use of Excel and Google Sheets in daily operations.

• Structured, dependable, and proactive working approach, with the capacity to maintain accuracy and precision even during demanding closing periods.

• Proficient in German and strong English language skills for effective collaboration in an international setting.

• Residing in the CET time zone (or a maximum ±4 hours difference) to ensure efficient daily collaboration.
