This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• We are seeking a **Senior Data Engineer** to conceptualize, construct, and enhance scalable data platforms that facilitate analytics, ecommerce, logistics, and marketing efforts. This position will involve creating robust data pipelines, upgrading the data infrastructure, and guaranteeing high-quality, reliable data solutions within an AWS environment. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, Airflow, and cloud-based data architectures, as well as exceptional communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• **Responsibilities**
• - Conceptualize, develop, and uphold scalable data pipelines for analytics, ecommerce, logistics, and marketing.
• - Enhance and sustain the organization's data infrastructure and tools, including Redshift/Snowflake, Airflow, and Fivetran.
• - Design data processing systems capable of managing complex data flows and extensive datasets.
• - Create reliable, efficient, and cost-effective data solutions within an AWS environment.
• - Maintain high standards of data quality through automation and established engineering practices.
• - Improve platform performance, resilience, scalability, and operational costs.
• - Work closely with software engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
• - Guide engineers and analysts on data engineering best practices.
• - Engage in architectural discussions and technical decision-making.
• **Must Have**
• - Over 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer working with contemporary data technologies.
• - Strong expertise in **Python** and **SQL**.
• - Experience with processing large-scale datasets.
• - Practical experience with **Apache Spark** and **Apache Airflow**.
• - Background in designing and architecting data processing systems in **AWS**.
• - Familiarity with **Redshift** and/or **Snowflake**.
• - Knowledge of **Fivetran** or similar data ingestion tools.
• - Strong comprehension of data quality, automation, and best practices in data engineering.
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• **Nice to Have**
• - Experience with streaming technologies such as **Kafka** or **AWS Kinesis Firehose**.
• - Understanding of **Docker** and/or **Kubernetes**.
• - Familiarity with **Ruby** or **R**.
• - Experience in building or migrating a Data Warehouse.
• - History of leading projects or mentoring technical teams.
