This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Regularly monitor, identify, consolidate, and report on technical security threats affecting the university network.
• Create predictive analytics strategies and risk-based security intelligence products to address advanced threat actors and evolving challenges.
• Design and manage comprehensive programs for Third-Party Risk Management and Dark Web Cyber Threat Intelligence.
• Investigate security alerts, correlate indicators of compromise (IOCs), and conduct software/malware analysis to assess impact and attacker methodologies.
• Develop and optimize security use cases within SIEM and logging environments for real-time threat detection.
• Coordinate vulnerability scanning efforts, translate findings into actionable mitigation strategies, and oversee contractors strategically.
• Effectively communicate complex technical analyses to senior leadership and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to enhance the cyber program continuously.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology).
• Alternatively, 5 to 10 years of highly relevant professional experience in information security may be accepted in place of a formal degree.
• Proven experience in a role as a Threat Analyst or in Vulnerability Management.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages, such as Python, for automating data analysis and centralization tasks.
• Strong understanding of threat centralization tools, security threats, and contemporary detection techniques.
• Ability to integrate, normalize, and correlate extensive volumes of disparate security data to uncover complex patterns and trends.
• Experience in utilizing and configuring enterprise-level vulnerability scanning and assessment tools.
• Demonstrated capability to conduct data analysis for attributing cyber-attacks to specific threat actors and behaviors.
• Proven experience with advanced security tools and controls aimed at proactive threat detection.
• Professional security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or GIAC certifications such as GCIH/GCIA).
