Security Specialist Tier 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Assessing customer security requirements for FortiNet and implementing suitable solutions.

• Transitioning existing firewall systems to newly installed FortiNet devices.

• Finalizing initial configurations for FortiNet clients and conducting user acceptance testing.

• Setting up and providing support for integrations with compatible third-party applications and systems.

• Diagnosing and resolving issues related to customer FortiNet implementations.

• Executing change requests and overseeing security appliance monitoring.

• Responding to and addressing security alerts.

• Actively enhancing security implementations.

• Staying updated on the latest products and services offered by FortiNet and its partners.

• Ensuring a positive experience for both customers and agents using FortiNet appliances.

• Protecting information system assets by identifying and addressing potential and actual security issues.

• Securing systems by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.

• Identifying issues by recognizing abnormalities and reporting violations.

• Implementing security enhancements by reviewing the current state, assessing trends, and forecasting needs.

• Identifying security violations and inefficiencies through regular audits.

• Upgrading systems by establishing and maintaining security controls.

• Keeping users and clients informed by generating performance reports and communicating system status.

• Upholding quality service by adhering to organizational standards.

• Enhancing technical knowledge by participating in educational workshops and reviewing relevant publications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or professional experience.

• Over 2 years of full-time, hands-on experience with designing, configuring, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting FortiNetFortiGuard security appliances.

• Active participant in a 24x7 team of FortiNet security experts.

• Proficient in system administration.

• Expertise in network security.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of information security policies.

• On-call network troubleshooting experience.

• Skills in firewall administration.

• Familiarity with network protocols.

• Possession of advanced FortiNet security certifications.

• Relevant industry certifications such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, Security+ CE, CISSP, or CASP.

• Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and typical security elements.

• Practical experience in analyzing large volumes of logs, network data (e.g. Netflow, FPC), and other attack indicators to support incident investigations.

• Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions.

• Must possess business-level proficiency in English, both written and verbal, along with strong and clear communication skills.
