Security Researcher III, Phishing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Data Collection: Identify, target, and recover data from Phishing-as-a-Service (PhaaS) kits by utilizing a blend of human intelligence and platform sourcing.

• Data Analysis: Implement data science methodologies to evaluate the quality of sourced data, aimed at enhancing and optimizing the PhaaS data sourcing pipeline.

• Human Intelligence: Utilize human intelligence strategies such as managing multiple alternate personas, engaging with actors, and employing social engineering techniques to aid in data recovery efforts.

• Security Analysis: Contribute to the creation of research blogs and analytical documents to support customer needs and business goals.

• Security Research: Engage in security research activities, including the investigation of threat actors, PhaaS, and other essential research aligned with SpyCloud’s priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity research, analysis, or a related cybersecurity role.

• Familiarity with contemporary PhaaS kits and techniques, including AiTM and Device Code phishing.

• Understanding of the criminal underground and methods to access data traded on the deep and dark web.

• Proficient in human intelligence techniques such as elicitation, persona management, and direct engagement with threat actors.

• Strong critical thinking skills, comfortable with collaborative problem-solving in a team setting.

• Outstanding communication abilities.

• Highly inquisitive, empathetic, adaptable, and self-motivated.

• Experience in a remote work environment with global team members.

• A strong commitment to combating cybercriminal activities.
