Security, Network, and IT Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Moldova.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage a virtualized testing environment (Hyper-V) that acts as the technical backbone for essential infrastructure projects in energy systems (HVDC, FACTS).

• Set up, configure, and maintain virtual machines, operating systems, and applications within the testing environment.

• Install and configure both physical and virtual networking devices, which include switches, routers, and firewalls.

• Monitor the performance of systems and networks to detect and anticipate issues, making proactive adjustments as necessary.

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of virtualization and network components, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity guidelines and necessary patching activities.

• Manage and maintain backup and recovery processes for the testing environment.

• Diagnose and resolve issues within the Hyper-V environment and the associated network infrastructure.

• Administer and uphold security applications within the testing environment, such as endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning tools, and access control systems.

• Offer technical support and develop documentation for Hyper-V processes, network configurations, and security protocols.

• Stay updated on technical advancements and trends in IT and OT security; consistently enhance knowledge pertinent to energy system test environments.

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to address significant outages impacting the testing infrastructure.

• Identify, evaluate, and address security concerns as they emerge; apply and improve system hardening measures throughout the environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in Hyper-V (or alternatively, VMware ESXi).

• Proficient in Windows Administration.

• Experience in scripting and coding for Hyper-V automation.

• Strong knowledge of security, particularly regarding system hardening.

• Familiarity with networking devices (switches, routers, firewalls).

• Basic understanding of database management would be advantageous.

• Advanced Python skills for automating security testing would be a plus.

• A structured and meticulous approach to work is essential.
