Security Engineer Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with developers to detect, resolve, and avert vulnerabilities, ensuring that our products are secure and resilient.

• Participate in activities such as source code auditing, threat modeling, and security reviews to empower engineering teams to create secure software by default.

• Enhance the security of Atlassian’s internal assets and networks, protecting our employees and infrastructure.

• Engage in initiatives that foster security awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

• Undertake the vital responsibility of monitoring and analyzing logs to pinpoint potential threats and anomalies.

• Cultivate your expertise in penetration testing and Red Team activities to assess and enhance Atlassian's security posture.

• Perform thorough security assessments to uncover vulnerabilities and suggest mitigation strategies.

• Assist in the development and execution of security governance frameworks and risk management strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or another related technical field, with plans to return after the internship and graduate by January 2028.

• Passion for Cyber Security: A strong enthusiasm for web application security, encryption, authentication, access control, and risk management is crucial.
