Security Engineer – Automation, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• At Atlan, security engineers are responsible for delivering products. If your instinct is to create systems that permanently resolve recurring issues rather than simply logging tickets, this position is ideal for you. You will manage AppSec and Cloud Security automation within a platform utilized by over 450 enterprise clients in regulated sectors, leveraging AI as your primary force multiplier.

• AI-Powered Security Agents: Develop AI agents that perform vulnerability triage, conduct automated security assessments of pull requests, and carry out initial incident forensics at scale. Hands-on experience in a production environment is essential.

• Cloud Security Automation: Create systems that can automatically identify and rectify security vulnerabilities across AWS (primary), GCP, and Azure -- including configuration drift, IAM misconfigurations, vulnerable dependencies, and exposed secrets. You will have full ownership of this process, not just the detection aspect.

• Application Security: Oversee threat modeling, security evaluations, and risk assessments related to web applications, APIs, and services. Collaborate with engineering to eradicate vulnerability classes comprehensively -- writing or reviewing fixes rather than merely reporting findings.

• Developer Security (Shift-Left): Integrate security into the development workflow. Incorporate SAST/SCA and secrets detection into CI/CD processes, ensuring "Secure by Default" becomes the easiest option for every engineer on the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in a cloud-native SaaS setting, with proven expertise in at least two security domains. A combination of AppSec and Cloud Security is preferred. Previous experience in a product startup or a high-growth organization is advantageous.

• Practical AI development experience. You have successfully integrated LLMs into production security workflows, including triage pipelines, automated review agents, and detection systems.

• Root-cause orientation: Capable of identifying the class of vulnerability, constructing the necessary guardrail, and permanently resolving the issue.

• Extensive AWS knowledge, including IAM, VPCs, and Kubernetes, along with practical insights into the methods of attack and defense in real-world environments. Familiarity with GCP and Azure is a plus.

• End-to-end ownership: You pinpoint the gap, devise the solution, and complete the process without relying on a separate execution team.
