This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Offer specialized knowledge in information security, assisting enterprise initiatives.
• Perform security evaluations, establishing security requirements.
• Create documentation that ensures secure, compliant, and resilient solutions.
• Analyze and evaluate current-state security solutions for new IT projects.
• Carry out security assessments for both on-premise and cloud-based proposed systems and initiatives.
• Detect security risks, vulnerabilities, and deficiencies in system design and implementation.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments in partnership with business units.
• Guarantee compliance with pertinent privacy laws and regulatory standards.
• Lead initiatives to gather security requirements for IT projects.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive enterprise security documentation, including policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures.
• Lead or assist in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits for IT projects.
• Engage in the planning and design of business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with project teams, IT operations, and business stakeholders to offer security guidance.
• Research emerging security threats, tools, and technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field is preferred.
• Certifications in information security such as CISSP, CISM, or similar are considered advantageous.
• Certifications aligned with NIST or security frameworks are regarded as beneficial.
• Training or certification in privacy and compliance fields is considered a plus.
• Significant experience with industry security solutions, particularly Microsoft security technologies.
• Experience in conducting on-premise and cloud security assessments for IT projects.
• Proficiency in developing security documentation for enterprise environments.
• Experience in performing privacy impact assessments.
• Strong grasp of networking protocols, including IP and TCP/IP.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to manage priorities and deliver results in high-pressure situations.
• This position is a remote consulting opportunity supporting a government client.
