Security Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Continuously monitor security alerts and notifications from a variety of security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.) while maintaining a vigilant presence. Support a 24x7 operational schedule.

• Evaluate security incidents to pinpoint potential threats and vulnerabilities.

• Aid in the investigation of security breaches and suggest corrective measures.

• Engage in incident response activities, encompassing containment and recovery initiatives.

• Record incidents and response actions for future reference and reporting purposes.

• Assist in performing risk assessments to uncover security risks and vulnerabilities.

• Support the review of security controls and propose enhancements.

• Contribute to the creation and execution of security policies and procedures.

• Keep precise documentation of security incidents, investigations, and policies.

• Prepare reports for management concerning security incidents and compliance metrics.

• Facilitate the promotion of security awareness across the organization.

• Participate in training sessions to improve personal and team understanding of security best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH) are advantageous.

• Previous experience working as an analyst in client environments with outstanding customer service skills.

• Proven experience in incident investigation, threat detection, and triage.

• Expertise in cybersecurity operations and SOC analytics.

• Basic knowledge of information security concepts and best practices.

• Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, antivirus software, SIEM).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
