This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Foster client relationships and assist clients in making confident and informed financial decisions.
• Comprehend clients' financial objectives, pinpoint potential tax savings, plan for the future, and educate clients about pertinent H&R Block products and services.
• Build rapport and trust through empathy, active listening, and a dedication to clients' financial well-being.
• Conduct tax interviews for both retail and DIY online clients via video, phone, chat, and email.
• Review and accurately complete individual and small-business tax returns in accordance with IRS regulations and H&R Block standards.
• Analyze IRS transcripts to uncover missed prior-year filings and opportunities for amendments.
• Offer ethical and reliable tax guidance.
• Manage sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
• Stay updated on tax laws, tools, and technology through ongoing training.
• Utilize H&R Block digital tools and platforms to enhance tax preparation efficiency and improve the client experience.
• Share expertise, support colleagues, and collaborate with staff to elevate client experiences and achieve office objectives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of three years of tax preparation or review experience is required.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred; equivalent education and practical experience will be considered.
• Experience with IRS transcripts, amendments, and the identification of prior-year returns is necessary.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Strong skills in virtual collaboration and communication on digital platforms are required.
• In-depth knowledge of tax law and personal tax concepts is important.
• Analytical skills are necessary for both routine and complex tax situations.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative team environment is crucial.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
• Internet speed of at least 15 Mbps is required.
• Enrolled Agent, Attorney, or CPA designation is preferred.
• A master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
