SDE IV – QA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Establish and oversee the comprehensive automated testing strategy for web portals and backend microservices, ensuring a balanced approach to UI, API, contract, integration, and end-to-end testing (test pyramid).

• Create testing strategies for distributed, event-driven architectures, focusing on asynchronous processes via SNS/SQS, eventual consistency, idempotency, message ordering, retries, and dead-letter management.

• Design and uphold robust test automation frameworks for web (using Playwright, Selenium, or similar) and API testing, employing Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Automate testing for APIs and services (REST/JSON and asynchronous messaging) to verify functionality, performance, and resilience.

• Construct maintainable and scalable framework abstractions (such as page objects, fixtures, data builders, and reusable test harnesses) that are readily adopted by other engineers.

• Lead performance, load, and resilience testing (e.g., JMeter, k6, Gatling, Locust) for highly scalable services, collaborating with engineering teams on findings and performance bottlenecks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient programming skills in Java (Spring Boot ecosystem) and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright (and/or Selenium) for web automation tasks.

• Demonstrated experience in testing microservices and API-based systems, particularly with asynchronous/event-driven architectures (experience with SNS/SQS or similar messaging systems like Kafka/RabbitMQ is advantageous).

• Familiarity with testing cloud-native applications on AWS (ECS, EKS, Lambda) and knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD processes, test integration, and quality gates within pipelines.

• Experience in performance/load testing and non-functional quality assessments.

• Knowledge of API automation tools (e.g., Postman, REST-assured) and a solid understanding of REST APIs.

• Basic familiarity with UNIX/Linux systems and scripting abilities.

• A problem-solving attitude, keen attention to detail, and the capability to make quality-driven decisions while mentoring others in a dynamic environment.

• Practical experience utilizing LLM/AI coding assistants (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to boost engineering efficiency, with sound judgment on when AI enhances productivity and when human oversight is necessary.
