This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Maintain and enhance existing scientific software packages while overseeing the complete lifecycle of new projects.

• Design and develop innovative scientific and machine learning software in collaboration with subject matter experts.

• Implement current methodologies and ensure reliability through comprehensive testing.

• Collaborate closely with the Engineering Team to deploy these modules within SandboxAQ’s simulation platform.

• Manage dependencies, containerize applications, and integrate software into CI/CD pipelines.

• Connect with compute and data backends effectively.

• Establish API endpoints and schemas.

• Work alongside the engineering team to create user interface components.

• Provide maintenance and support for the production deployments of scientific software packages.

• Cultivate a workplace culture centered around curiosity and kindness.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field such as physics, chemistry, biology, or computer science.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.

• Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with numerical and performance libraries like NumPy.

• Familiarity with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch.

• Experience with pertinent development tools and environments (git, Unix/Linux, cloud platforms, containerization).

• Proficient in utilizing LLM tools and coding frameworks to develop quickly while producing understandable, secure, and maintainable code that forms a solid foundation for long-term development.

• Capability to swiftly write high-quality code without allowing perfection to hinder progress.

• Ability to devise, communicate, and manage technical roadmaps in a self-directed environment.

• Willingness to thrive in a fast-paced team with diverse professional experiences and perspectives.
