School Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Provide proactive guidance curriculum to both individuals and groups.

• Address the needs of individuals and groups through responsive counseling and programming.

• Assess transfer student transcripts to facilitate appropriate course placements.

• Maintain and evaluate transcripts for current students and outline credit award procedures.

• Develop and uphold student graduation plans.

• Offer career readiness curriculum and assist in the formulation of career plans.

• Implement Social-Emotional Learning curriculum.

• Design and oversee Student 504 plans.

• Analyze student data to contribute to suitable academic programs and interventions.

• Travel as required to support testing initiatives and school events within the state.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.

• Possession of a valid State Counselor license.

• A Bachelor's degree along with one (1) year of prior experience in counseling and/or advisement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Familiarity with the ASCA model.

• Experience in K-12 online learning environments.

• Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws, as well as mandated reporting requirements.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.

• Capable of handling confidential information with care and demonstrating sound judgment in maintaining that confidentiality.

• Skilled in managing challenging or emotional situations and making evidence-based decisions.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Competent in performing well under pressure, effectively prioritizing tasks, and consistently meeting deadlines.

• Customer service-oriented.

• Able to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.

• Must pass federal and state criminal background checks.
