This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist students and their families in choosing suitable courses that align with academic aspirations, graduation requirements, and future educational plans.

• Develop and oversee personalized academic plans for students in grades K–12.

• Track student progress towards graduation; carry out regular credit evaluations and transcript assessments.

• Offer proactive assistance for academic interventions, schedule modifications, and retention strategies.

• Organize and monitor dual credit/dual enrollment participation while maintaining partnerships with higher education institutions.

• Keep student transcripts updated, including GPA calculations and class rankings when applicable.

• Handle transcript requests, credit transfers, and academic records in compliance with FERPA regulations.

• Work in collaboration with enrollment and registrar teams to ensure precise course placements and student scheduling.

• Examine course enrollment requests for correctness and alignment with student academic plans.

• Provide short-term counseling and refer students for academic motivation, social-emotional issues, and personal development needs.

• Identify at-risk students and work with student support staff to put intervention plans into action.

• Lead guidance lessons or workshops that focus on self-management, decision-making, peer relationships, and emotional wellness.

• Aid high school students in college planning, scholarship navigation, SAT/ACT timelines and testing, ASVAB, AP, and career exploration.

• Assist students with applications for postsecondary programs, financial aid (FAFSA), and personal statements.

• Organize virtual college fairs, career panels, and readiness events.

• Frequently collaborate with academic coaches, learning specialists, teachers, and family support teams.

• Ensure adherence to internal policies, accreditation standards, and confidentiality regulations (FERPA).

• Keep accurate records of counseling sessions, interventions, and family communications in the school’s SIS or CRM.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in School Counseling, Education, or a related field.

• Valid state of Texas certification/licensure as a K–12 School Counselor.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of education.

• Profound knowledge of academic advising, course planning, transcripts, GPA, and postsecondary readiness.

• Experience with diverse student populations.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in a remote environment.

• Tech-savvy; comfortable using virtual platforms (Google Workspace, Zoom/Google Meet, TEAMS, LMS/SIS systems).

• Preferred: Experience in an online or hybrid K–12 educational setting.

• Familiarity with NCAA eligibility processes, dual credit systems, and transcript evaluation.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
