RPG/SQL Developer for Power i

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Development and enhancement of tailored RPG/SQL software on contemporary IBM Power i systems in high-availability, mirrored LPAR partitions.

• Execution of enhancement and maintenance projects for both internal and external clients.

• Analysis and implementation of requirements arising from daily operations for suppliers and internal business units.

• Collaboration within structured software architectures utilizing dedicated modules, functions, and an internal developer workbench.

• Creation and upkeep of interfaces, web services, and APIs.

• Guaranteeing stable data flows from data entry through billing to data output.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed vocational training or degree with a specialization in computer science.

• Several years of development experience on IBM Power i.

• Excellent knowledge of RPG (from RPG II to FreeRPG), CL, and SQL.

• Strong expertise in IBM DB2 for i (DDS and SQL), including database design.

• Experience with triggers, stored procedures, service programs, and copy routines.

• Proficient use of development and collaboration tools such as IBM RDi, iACS, VSC4i, Jira, and Confluence.

• Understanding of internal customers, ticketing, and commercial processes is advantageous (e.g., billing, transactions, card, or toll systems).

• Proficient in both German and English.
