
Rotational Housekeeping Supervisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities and personnel of the Housekeeping department.
• Deliver the highest standard of service to our customers.
• Ensure adherence to operational guidelines and fair-treatment policies.
• Act as the Person in Charge and manage hotel operations as needed.
• Maintain and enhance customer service programs.
• Engage in continuous training for both yourself and the housekeeping team.
• Oversee budget compliance and manage purchase control logs.
• Process timecards, enter weekly payroll data, and prepare wage progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with inventory management and maintain document retention protocols.
• Communicate updates on room statuses and coordinate room cleaning in accordance with sanitation standards.
• Ensure that public areas and laundry-room procedures meet established standards.
• Assist the Manager with administrative tasks, including progress reports, invoices, and inventory management.
• Foster teamwork and boost associate morale; recommend or initiate personnel actions as needed.
• Monitor associate files and uphold uniform standards.
• Professionally address guest complaints and support staff in serving guests.
• Maintain familiarity with departmental equipment maintenance and operational protocols.
• Help facilitate safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety regulations for both the company and clients.
• Participate in departmental meetings and staff outings.
• Analyze and resolve work-related issues, assisting associates in problem-solving.
• Conduct interviews, orient new associates, and provide ongoing training.
• Collaborate with Sales to ensure that meeting-room functions are delivered in a professional and consistent manner.
• Review house counts and meeting-room schedules daily, reporting any discrepancies.
• Maintain daily communication with Housekeeping staff regarding special needs, outages, and projects.
• Adhere to proper uniform standards and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties essential to the success of the department or unit.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for the past three years may be required at certain locations.
• Must meet eligibility criteria under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy if driving is necessary.
• Must be able to stand and walk constantly.
• Occasionally required to lift items.
• Rarely required to push or pull.
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in an indoor hotel environment with moderate noise levels and a medium pace of work.
• Capability to supervise housekeeping staff and carry out sanitation-related tasks.
• Housing is provided for employees working in Kotzebue.
• Flight expenses for travel between Kotzebue and Anchorage are covered.
