This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop standardized procedures for patient billing and collections within the region.
• Act as the subject matter expert regarding billing and collections.
• Provide support, updates, and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders on billing and collections matters.
• Suggest and implement enhancements for billing and collection processes, while monitoring and assessing progress.
• Keep track of federal, state, and local regulations and laws impacting patient billing and collections.
• Create and execute policies and procedures to ensure timely billing and collections.
• Train ambulatory surgery centers on business office policies and procedures.
• Conduct annual evaluations of business office policies and processes.
• Review the performance of the billing system.
• Identify, train, and deploy preferred billing systems at various centers.
• Assist with HIPAA compliance, licensing, and chart audits.
• Aid ASCs in generating required quarterly and annual statistical reports and forms.
• Oversee claims to ensure compliance with Medicare regulations.
• Address periodic findings from chart audits.
• Support HIPAA audits.
• Assess billing and collection systems for potential acquisitions and provide documented insights and recommendations.
• Stay vigilant for new business opportunities.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in Business from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare billing.
• Familiarity with operations in ambulatory surgery centers is preferred.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Capability to understand, read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Skills to compose business correspondence effectively.
• Competence to present information, address inquiries, and interact professionally with managers, employees, clients, vendors, and the public.
• Aptitude to identify and define problems, gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and rectify errors.
• Ability to comprehend and analyze basic financial data.
• Capacity to interpret varied instructions and manage both abstract and concrete variables.
• Proficiency in managing multiple tasks simultaneously in an effective and efficient manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
• High integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
