This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Comprehend and follow the National EMR Policies and Procedures Manual, Uniform Handbook, and Operations Manual.
• Promote a culture that motivates team members to prioritize safety, recognize potential hazards, and promptly report safety issues to their direct supervision.
• Maintain active participation in the agency’s platforms, including learning management systems, to complete training aimed at personal development, mission requirements, or Just-In-Time (JIT) training.
• Responsible for administering respiratory assessments and treatments to clients.
• Clean and sterilize respiratory therapy equipment while performing necessary operational maintenance.
• Communicate and collaborate with relevant medical personnel (Physician, APP, RN, LVN, or Pharmacy) as necessary.
• Aid in process enhancement by reviewing, drafting, and updating respiratory protocols and procedures in partnership with the Medical Services Division.
• Effectively consult and interact with the RN Manager/Clinic Director regarding policy and procedure matters that impact the quality of respiratory services.
• Meet patient goals and needs while delivering quality care by conducting pulmonary function tests; assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; and formulating respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and via prescription.
• Assist patients in achieving treatment goals and sustaining life by administering inhalants; operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas delivery devices, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
• Provide respiratory therapy treatments by conducting bronchopulmonary drainage; supporting breathing exercises; and monitoring physiological responses to therapy, including vital signs and blood chemistry changes.
• Assess the impact of the respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, recording, and evaluating patient progress; recommending necessary adjustments and modifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program is mandatory.
• A current certified respiratory therapist (CRT) certificate is required.
• Must not be barred from employment in any state.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a respiratory therapist is required.
• Experience in pediatric and adult respiratory therapy is preferred.
• Must adhere to recognized standards of professional integrity and accountability in the workplace, complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations in all duties.
• Demonstrate the ability to:
• a. Respond sensitively and competently to the cultural and socio-economic characteristics of the service population.
• b. Collaborate effectively with other staff, service providers, professionals, and clients.
• c. Maintain professional interpersonal skills and non-verbal communication abilities.
• d. Communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms in English.
• e. Operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and making decisions aligned with the program and service population's needs.
• f. Exhibit intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Suite.
• g. Be detail-oriented and organized.
• h. Work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team without intensive supervision.
• i. Utilize various communication systems to maintain situational awareness across responses (cellular, two-way radio, satellite, etc.).
• j. Engage in physical activities such as extensive walking, stretching, bending, and occasionally lifting more than 50 lbs.
• k. Be willing to work extended hours and/or non-traditional hours (e.g., weekends, evenings, holidays, in challenging environments).
• Upon hire, must provide a current physical-medical release and proof of immunizations, exemptions, or declinations for the following:
• a. Influenza
• b. MMR
• c. Varicella
• d. HepB
• e. HepA
• f. Tetanus
• g. PPD, IGRA, or Chest X-ray
• h. Meningococcal (preferred)
• Must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and a driving record in good standing with no restrictions (subject to annual review).
