
Residential Field Technician, Energy Efficiency

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Conduct energy efficiency audits and quality control inspections in residential settings.
• Carry out site visits to validate HVAC systems, insulation, windows, lighting, appliances, and the overall building envelope.
• Employ diagnostic instruments such as blower doors, combustion analyzers, and infrared cameras to evaluate air leakage and energy performance.
• Gather and analyze utility data, homeowner usage trends, and building specifications.
• Use designated software tools to enter all collected data and prioritize recommendations for energy-saving enhancements.
• Execute post-installation inspections to confirm the completion and effectiveness of energy upgrades.
• Ensure adherence to relevant standards and program requirements.
• Collaborate with contractors, utility representatives, and program managers as necessary.
• Keep precise records and submit documentation promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Candidates must reside in the greater Evansville, Indianapolis, or Ft. Wayne areas of Indiana; or near Louisville, KY.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in energy, construction, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.
• Capability to navigate up and down ladders and access attic spaces.
• Comfortable working in outdoor conditions, non-conditioned buildings, and standard office environments.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a field services/quality control and quality assurance role, or consulting, energy efficiency, or utility experience is highly preferred.
• Certification as a BPI Building Analyst, RESNET HERS Rater, or an equivalent qualification; or the ability to obtain such certification within the first 60 days of employment.
• Essential knowledge of building science, construction, and technical expertise.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Willingness to travel 25% to 75% of the time (with limited overnight travel).
• Familiarity with SnuggPro is a plus.
