Research and Development Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the discovery, assessment, and enhancement of new technologies, products, or processes.

• Remain updated on industry trends, scientific progress, and competing technologies.

• Utilize extensive technical knowledge to address complex issues and develop innovative solutions.

• Design, prototype, and validate research and development concepts through modeling, simulation, experimentation, or proof-of-concept creations.

• Execute feasibility studies, cost-benefit evaluations, and risk assessments for new projects.

• Act as the subject matter expert in designated technical areas.

• Prepare and disseminate research findings, reports, and technical documentation.

• Ensure that R&D projects comply with organizational, regulatory, and ethical guidelines.

• Engage in the development of intellectual property, including patents and technology disclosures.

⛳️ Requirements

• DoD 8140 Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Life Sciences, or a related technical field.

• 3-5 years of experience in R&D, innovation, or applied research positions.

• Proficiency in one or more relevant technical areas (e.g., software engineering, materials science, biotechnology, data science, advanced manufacturing).

• Experience in prototyping, modeling/simulation, and experimental design.

• Knowledge of technology transfer, commercialization, or systems integration.

• Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Stage-Gate, etc.).
