This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ecuador.
• Field Agronomic Support
• Conduct regular visits to active pilot sites and commercial plantations within your territory
• Assist producers in establishing plantations: correct spacing, drainage, irrigation installation, and early-stage crop management
• Advise on crop management programs: nutrition, control of Black Sigatoka, suckering, fruit protection, and harvest preparation
• Monitor plant health across all active sites: growth rates, bunch development, disease pressure, and any anomalies
• Support harvest and post-harvest evaluations: measuring bunch weight, assessing green life, and observations at the packing plant
• Quickly resolve agronomic issues and escalate as necessary
• Manage demonstration plots and mother plantations in your territory, maintaining accurate and updated records for each site
• Execute field trial protocols
• Collect, record, and report performance data from all active trial and commercial sites
• Photograph all sites at consistent growth stages, with accurate labeling and dating
• Submit structured weekly visit reports and monthly pilot summaries to the commercial and technical teams
• Participate in meetings with producers alongside the Regional Sales Director and the Global Product Director
• Identify business signals during conversations with producers and report them to the commercial team
• Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of field experience in banana production — practical knowledge of Cavendish agronomy, Sigatoka management, and post-harvest handling is required
• Fluent in Spanish; functional English for internal reporting
• Experience with structured data collection and field trial protocols
• Strong relationship-building skills — able to earn the trust of experienced and skeptical producers through technical credibility and consistency
• Commercial awareness — able to understand producer economics, identify adoption barriers, and communicate the practical value of new varieties
• Self-sufficient and highly organized — capable of independently managing a multi-site visit schedule across a large territory
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the territory
