This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Thailand.
• Produce and write across various formats, effortlessly transitioning between breaking news, original reporting, sharp analysis, and in-depth enterprise stories.
• Take charge of submitting timely reports on urgent stories while also focusing on the long-term trends influencing the region's travel economy.
• Stay well-informed about global and regional travel news, maintaining awareness of Skift’s coverage and the wider competitive landscape.
• Generate and uncover original stories by leveraging extensive industry sources, regulatory documents, corporate disclosures, and your own relentless efforts.
• Apply sound and ethical journalistic judgment in your daily reporting and interactions with sources.
• Travel to report on significant industry events, attend Skift’s global conferences, and engage in media appearances whenever opportunities arise.
• Foster open communication and regularly share information with colleagues, cultivating strong and cohesive working relationships within our global, remote newsroom.
• 2–3 years of experience in business reporting.
• B2B or business publishing experience is highly preferred, although strong consumer media experience will be taken into account.
• A solid working knowledge of the travel industries in South East Asia, ideally supported by an extensive network of contacts in the field.
• Outstanding writing and copy-editing abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to craft engaging business stories.
• Proficiency in WordPress, basic photo editing software, Google Docs, and standard remote collaboration tools.
• The self-discipline to manage your own schedule and excel in a remote environment while remaining highly connected and enthusiastic about teamwork.
• Proficiency in regional languages is a significant advantage for our global coverage.
