Release Train Engineer – Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Oversee the coordination of release schedules among ALS development, testing, infrastructure, and business teams.

• Strategize and manage SIT, UAT, Pre-Production, and Production deployment activities.

• Supervise ALS upgrades, patches, and vendor releases (FIS).

• Guarantee that regulatory and compliance-related modifications are delivered punctually.

• Handle code promotion, environment preparedness, and cut-over planning.

• Serve as the liaison between Product Management, Product Owners, Scrum Teams, business users, and leadership.

• Monitor dependencies, risks, and readiness throughout the release train; represent changes at change-approval forums (CAB).

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient mainframe skills — COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 (and ideally Coolgen / IEF, the technology that supports ALS).

• Proven experience in coordinating releases across development, testing, infrastructure, and business teams.

• Practical experience in planning SIT / UAT / Pre-Prod / Production deployments and cut-overs.

• Familiarity with FIS ALS or a similar lending/core banking platform.

• Knowledge of change and configuration management (e.g., Endevor / Changeman), scheduling (Control-M / CA7), and Connect:Direct.

• Comfortable with managing tiered environments (Dev / Test / UAT / Pre-Prod / Production / DR).
