This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Work safely in energized utility-class substations.
• Lead a team while fostering a positive work environment.
• Conduct testing on utility transmission-grade relays.
• Execute functional testing of protective schemes for projects within the continental United States.
• Commission and troubleshoot SCADA systems for substations.
• Plan, prepare, and implement test plans utilizing Doble ProTest or equivalent software/equipment.
• Perform functional testing on intricate protection schemes.
• Ensure that project quality meets specifications and standards.
• Identify and resolve design and wiring challenges.
• Communicate project progress and issues to the Project Manager and company leadership.
• Organize and manage project testing documentation for closeout packages.
• Conduct in-service checks in energized substations.
• Capability to safely work in energized utility-class substations.
• Ability to lead a team while maintaining a positive demeanor.
• 3–5 years of experience in testing SEL, GE, ABB, and Basler microprocessor-based relays.
• Knowledge of protective relays and schemes, including overcurrent, differential, line, voltage, and frequency protection applications.
• Experience in performing SCADA testing with SEL RTAC or similar vendor equipment.
• Proficient in computer applications such as MS Office, Doble Protection Suite, RTS, SEL AcSELerator, Adobe, and other necessary tools.
• Ability to conduct in-service checks in energized substations.
• A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent industry experience; 10+ years of relevant experience is preferred for the experience alternative.
• Willingness to travel approximately 75% annually.
• Possess a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and noisy conditions.
• Capability to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to work at elevated positions.
• Minimum of OSHA 10-hour certification.
• NFPA 70E FA/CPR training is required.
• NICET or NETA Level 2 or higher qualification is preferred.
• Strong skills in verbal, presentation, and written communication.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to research and self-teach unfamiliar topics.
• Professional representation of the company to clients, owners, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Ability to drive issues to resolution.
• Self-motivated individual.
• OSHA 10 hour (minimum) training provided.
• NFPA 70E FA/CPR training offered.
