This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Conduct thorough nutrition evaluations for patients identified as being at nutritional risk.
• Create, execute, and oversee personalized, evidence-based nutrition care strategies for patients with intricate medical issues.
• Offer nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families regarding acute disease management, discharge planning, and preventing readmissions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, regulatory standards such as TJC and CMS, and best-practice guidelines.
• Maintain complete and prompt electronic medical record documentation.
• Monitor patients for variations in weight, laboratory results, fluid status, and overall clinical condition, making timely adjustments to interventions.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and clinical rounds.
• Act as a nutrition expert and resource for hospital staff, aiding in staff education and development.
• Execute other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN).
• Current state licensure/certification as required by the state.
• A minimum of 2–3 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital environment.
• Experience in managing patients with a range of complex medical conditions.
• Proficient in enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong abilities in critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
• Familiarity with acute care workflows, electronic health records (EHR), and hospital regulatory standards.
