Regional Director, Medical Science Liaison – US East

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the KOL/HCP engagement strategy for the territory, which includes identifying, mapping, and prioritizing thought leaders, prescribers, and treatment centers.

• Present scientific information and engage in discussions with KOLs and HCPs regarding Deramiocel clinical data, the DMD cardiomyopathy landscape, and emerging evidence.

• Assist with advisory boards, scientific symposia, and research initiatives led by KOLs.

• Identify and support investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and opportunities for real-world evidence in collaboration with HEOR / RWE and the Medical Director.

• Provide scientific support for medical congresses, covering areas such as DMD, neuromuscular disorders, cardiology, and rare diseases.

• Gather and analyze field insights related to clinical practices, treatment decision-making, and new evidence; convert these insights into strategic recommendations for medical initiatives.

• Offer scientific training and support to internal teams (Sales, Market Access, Patient Services) while adhering to engagement and channel regulations.

• Maintain thorough scientific knowledge of Deramiocel clinical data, DMD natural history, and the wider treatment landscape.

• Ensure prompt reporting of adverse events and product complaints in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.

• Record field activities, KOL/HCP interactions, and insights in Capricor's medical CRM, following compliance standards.

• Adhere to FDA, OIG, PhRMA Code, ACCME, and Capricor compliance standards in all activities.

• Perform additional duties as assigned on occasion.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced clinical degree is required (MD, PharmD, PhD, DO, or equivalent).

• 5 to 10 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in biotech or pharma; experience in rare diseases, cell/gene therapy, pediatrics, neuromuscular diseases, or cardiology is preferred.

• Proven scientific credibility and the ability to engage KOLs in peer-to-peer scientific discussions.

• Strong familiarity with FDA, OIG, PhRMA Code, ACCME, and MLR review processes.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in the scientific domain, with the ability to convey complex data to clinical audiences.

• Ability to work independently and execute tasks in a self-directed manner within a field-based setting.
