Records Retrieval Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Perform quality assurance evaluations of medical records and ICD-9/10 diagnosis codes submitted to CMS and other governmental entities.

• Gather medical records and verify the accuracy of member information.

• Acquire provider signatures as necessary.

• Visit provider offices to collect, examine, and confirm medical records on-site.

• Collaborate with provider offices through phone communication and in-person meetings.

• Access records via various EMR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

• Utilize a laptop, portable scanner, and external thumb drive to retrieve records, subsequently uploading them to a database.

• Efficiently schedule physician office appointments and site visits to meet deadlines.

• Assist with regional calls and administrative tasks.

• Travel within the designated territory and occasionally stay overnight as required.

• Report directly to the Risk Adjustment Supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working with different Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital and/or provider environment.

• Willingness to travel overnight occasionally within the Northeast region.

• Must reside in South Central Pennsylvania, specifically within Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, or York counties.

• Availability to travel up to 100% within the assigned territory.

• Must have reliable transportation via car.

• A valid state driver's license is required.

• Proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with coverage limits of at least 100/300/100.

• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, with occasional flexibility in schedule.

• Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload for home or hybrid employees.

• A dedicated workspace free from ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.

• Preferred: experience with Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, and Teams.

• Preferred: prior managed care experience.

• Preferred: knowledge of medical terminology and/or ICD-10 codes.

• Preferred: experience in medical record retrieval.
