This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Crafting and executing strategies for risk management and optimization of DeFi protocols through the use of quantitative models, simulations, and machine learning techniques.
• Create tools and engines that provide parameter recommendations and significantly impact protocols.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of protocol integrations, which includes constructing data pipelines and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to establish data requirements and product offerings.
• Design and enhance data models and structures to accommodate the changing demands of DeFi analytics, simulations, methodologies, and research advancements.
• Play a key role in elevating our core modeling platform to a world-class standard.
• Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and techniques in software engineering.
• Enhance Aera guardian logic to boost risk-adjusted yields, improve trade execution quality, and increase the capital efficiency of strategies such as Protocol-Owned Liquidity for Aera Vaults.
• Collaborate with various cross-functional teams, both internal and external.
• Remain updated on current industry trends, market risk factors, and market conditions to ensure that Aera strategies remain at the forefront of crypto and DeFi innovation.
• At least 4 years of direct, hands-on experience in trading or analyzing financial markets (whether crypto or traditional) in a professional capacity.
• Proven experience in developing statistical or quantitative models for financial markets.
• Familiarity with blockchain and DeFi protocols, concepts, and best practices (or a strong eagerness to learn).
• Skilled in coding with Python and SQL, with a solid grasp of software engineering principles.
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Dagster, Airflow) and distributed data processing technologies (like Spark).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and optimization algorithms.
• Proficient with scientific computing packages such as Numpy/Scipy, Pandas, etc.
• Capable of quickly assimilating abstract concepts in new areas, combined with strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Able to work autonomously and as part of a team, manage multiple projects, and adhere to deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment.
