This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Project Management and Coordination – oversee, schedule, and manage field research initiatives such as interviews, focus groups, and survey implementations; foster and maintain strategic partnerships with both internal and external teams; assist in participant recruitment and management of incentives.

• Data Collection – set up and uphold data collection and implementation measurement systems to assess program quality; engage in or lead various data collection activities (e.g., focus groups, surveys, interviews, etc.); perform user needs assessments and utilize data-driven frameworks to inform ongoing product development.

• Quantitative Data Management/Analysis – build, maintain, clean, and oversee large datasets (e.g., Common Core of Data school directory files, client implementation databases, etc.) utilizing Stata, R, or another statistical software package; proficiently summarize descriptive data for client products, dissemination, and annual reporting.

• Report and Proposal Production – contribute to and/or lead the conceptualization and drafting of project reports and proposals ranging from small to large; prepare descriptive reports, analytic sections, and evaluation documentation; assist in the preparation and submission of proposals of various sizes.

• Facilitation/Presentation – facilitate meetings and deliver research findings; interact with clients and non-specialists concerning data collection, analyses, and reports; effectively communicate with a diverse range of internal and external audiences, including colleagues, clients, researchers, practitioners, and laypersons.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three years of direct experience in educational research, quantitative social science research, or a related field and/or a master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

• Prior experience necessitated a strong understanding of research and evaluation design and methodologies, measurement, and quantitative data analysis.

• Comprehensive knowledge of research and evaluation design and methodologies, measurement, and both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

• Experience in managing data and developing and maintaining data processing pipelines.

• Proficiency in a major statistical software package (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, or Stata).

• Experience in preparing research and literature reviews, coordinating and designing research and evaluation projects, and writing reports on project findings for multiple audiences.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.

• Capability to adapt to urgent requests and collaborate with Project Directors to ensure timely delivery of outputs.

• Competence in translating research findings into materials suitable for practitioners, including brief reports, presentations, and professional development resources.

• Excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to learn new technologies and quantitative methodologies.

• Ability to collaborate with others and work effectively within a team environment.

• Strong technical writing and communication skills with the ability to coordinate various tasks across multiple projects.

• Ability to create charts, tables, and other graphics for reports.

• Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) and sound judgment regarding their appropriate use in research and technical tasks, including fact-checking, bias awareness, source verification of outputs, and rectifying incorrect code.
