This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• The Quality Assurance Engineer II acts as an individual contributor within a team, with support and guidance from leadership, responsible for ensuring that scope, schedule, and delivery objectives are met.
• Conduct functional, regression, and accessibility testing during each sprint, verifying stories against acceptance criteria and identifying merges that do not pass automated test gates.
• Develop and maintain both manual and automated test cases utilizing Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright with moderate assistance from senior QA engineers.
• Execute Axe and pa11y accessibility scans on merge requests, documenting findings in Jira and Confluence in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
• Assess API behavior using Postman or Rest Assured as part of the sprint testing coverage.
• Collaborate with developers to create boilerplate and exploratory test cases for new features, helping to decrease cognitive load and identifying edge cases early on.
• Contribute to the CI/CD pipeline test instrumentation in GitLab, ensuring that tests are executed automatically with every build and check-in.
• Engage in load and performance testing activities to support the validation of system capacity and stability.
• Take part in SAFe ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives, to enhance understanding of the overall program testing strategy.
• Pose questions during design and architecture discussions to ensure that systems are designed with testability in mind from the outset.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant QA engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent additional experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must fulfill federal suitability requirements and successfully complete a background investigation as a condition of employment.
• Expertise in test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience in creating test plans and test cases for both manual and automated testing scenarios.
• Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman or Rest Assured.
• Working knowledge of accessibility testing tools, including Axe and pa11y.
• Experience in integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and working within GitLab or similar version control systems.
• Understanding of load and performance testing concepts and tools.
• Strong grasp of agile testing methodologies and the integration of QA within a sprint-based delivery model.
