QA Automation Lead – Performance Testing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Establish the performance engineering strategy for the organization.

• Ensure that systems are capable of accommodating hyper-growth and peak traffic scenarios through modeling and automated gating.

• Assess functional and non-functional requirements, technical design documents, and provide feedback to pinpoint performance risks.

• Design, develop, and implement performance, load, and stress testing procedures.

• Utilize AI to analyze production traffic patterns and create performance scripts.

• Work collaboratively with development, QA, DevOps, and SRE teams to establish performance benchmarks and SLAs.

• Evaluate test results to identify bottlenecks and generate comprehensive performance testing reports.

• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines and promote continuous performance testing practices.

• Monitor application performance during releases and actively participate in capacity planning discussions.

• Champion performance engineering best practices and facilitate the shift of performance testing left in the SDLC.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

• 7-10 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to performance, load, stress, and endurance testing.

• Extensive hands-on experience in designing and executing performance test strategies for web applications and APIs.

• Strong proficiency in Python, capable of writing clean, maintainable, and scalable test code.

• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as Locust (preferred), JMeter, Gatling, or similar.

• Robust understanding of performance metrics (response time, throughput, latency, error rates, resource utilization) and profiling techniques.

• Advanced skills in utilizing APM tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, or Dynatrace).

• In-depth experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, RDS, ELB) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
